Some minimally invasive surgeries are performed in an Ambulatory Surgery Center by Dr. Rohan, Jr. at Northwest Florida Surgery Center, which enables patients to be home later the same day.

Northwest Florida Surgery Center (nwfsc.com) is a multi-specialty outpatient surgery center where procedures and surgeries are safely performed and patients are able to return home on the same day. Since opening 20 years ago, the ambulatory surgery center has treated more than 170,000 patients. The ASC features board-certified surgeons in the following specialties: Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology (Ears, Nose, and Throat), Plastic Surgery, Spine Surgery, and Pain Management. Northwest Florida Surgery Center is owned and operated by local Panama City surgeons. The surgery center is an extension of the physician's practice and gives them more control over the delivery of health care. Northwest Florida Surgery Center is nationally accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).

Notice to patients:

Northwest Florida Spine uses Ambulatory Surgery Centers
Many minimally invasive surgeries and disc replacement surgeries are performed in an Ambulatory Surgery Center by Dr. Rohan, Jr. at several area Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs) in Destin and Panama City, which enables patients to be home later the same day. By using an ASC, patients avoid the risks that can be involved if they are admitted to a large regional hospital that has complex patients with other infectious diseases.

Dr. Michael Rohan, Jr. is fellowship-trained in spine surgery, the highest level of medical education in the U.S. Over the past 10 years, Northwest Florida Spine has been referred back and neck pain patients from across the Gulf Coast region for the most advanced minimally invasive spine surgery and artificial disc replacement surgery. Responding to its regional reputation in spine care, in early 2018, the spine center transitioned its name from Panama City Spine to Northwest Florida Spine which reflects the regional draw of patients.
